The scene is a primitive board game, called “SUMO SUGOROKU” is a primitive board game, translated as "DOUBLE SIX".  It's the Japanese version of version of Parcheesi or Snakes and Ladders. The player rolls the dice to move from one letter (red circle) to the next intending to teach the plays in sumo wrestling.
