Seikosen Handmade Very Long Mitsumata HK-0006
This handmade mitsumata (edgeworthia) paper is warm natural and an extra long sheet. It certainly can be used for most any printmaking technique, as well as backing support for large artwork. Because its unusual size, it has been used in repair of antique folding screens.
Seikosen is made by the Osaki family way up on a mountain top in the Kochi area of Japan. It is considered a "National Treasure" paper, which means it has been the same way for centuries. It is one of the many Tosa Washi (paper from Kochi) we carry. The papermakers in Kochi (formerly Tosa Kingdom), have been crafting paper, using traditional methods practiced for countless generations.
