Named for the old name of Fukui Prefecture, a very famous paper-making area in western Japan; Echizen Washi is a special collection of paper with a sheen. We have carefully selected the subtle and elegant papers to suit the demand of wedding invitation, card and book makers. The brocade-like patterns on surface of some of the Echizen papers are created by using a hand-soldered, large, metal watermark screen dipped in mitsumata fiber and then couched on a heavier base sheet.
